When you’ve had one too many chilly Karl the Fog mornings, but your vacation day balance screams better stay local, it’s time to rediscover what’s in our own beautiful Bay Area backyard. Just a breezy ride from San Francisco’s Ferry Building, Downtown Tiburon is the coastal cutie you didn’t know you needed, minus the passport, TSA lines, and the existential dread of lost luggage and missed connections.

Whether you’re marking a special occasion, plotting a gourmet getaway, or want to show out-of-towners why California rocks, Tiburon delivers big on charm in a small and scenic package.

And now’s the perfect time to go. The Lodge at Tiburon is offering an “Endless Summer” sale, with  20% off Sunday–Thursday stays, and 10% off Friday and Saturday stays, through August 31, 2025

So, toss a sense of curiosity and adventure into your overnight bag and put Tiburon on the top of your “To Discover” list.

Here’s how to spend three unforgettable summer days in Tiburon.
And don’t forget to tag us in your selfies! @destinationtiburon

Day 1

Morning
Welcome to Tiburon! Start with a cappuccino or hot tea at Caffe Acri, just a few steps off the dock, where you can also grab avocado toast, pastries, egg croissants, and more, to start your day right.

Midday
Check in and drop your bags at The Lodge at Tiburon before renting an e-Bike (or even a tandem) at Demosport.  The ride to Blackie’s Pasture along the water and back to downtown is flat and easy for all levels. Or pack extra water (and some snacks) and make a longer odyssey, such as the Paradise Loop, a scenic 11-mile cycling route that hugs the water in some parts and undulates through groves of eucalyptus trees and residential areas in others.

Lunch
If you haven’t provisioned a picnic from Woodlands Market or Rustic Bakery, then drop by cozy Lola’s Taqueria on Arc Row for authentic Mexican cuisine, including tacos, pupusas, chile relleno, and homemade mole.  On the water, Luna Blu dishes out salads, fresh fish, and seafood pasta.

Evening
On Friday or Saturday evenings, circle back to Caffe Acri, where you can order a glass of prosecco and listen to live music from 6-9 p.m. You can grab a casual dinner here, or head next door to Bungalow Kitchen, where you can dine on a menu created by superstar chef Michael Mina, book a Secret Sushi dinner (Wednesday — Sunday). If you happen to be in town on a Tuesday, don’t miss the Lodge’s Tacos & Tequila menu.

Between May and October, you can book a Sunset Cruise (6:30 pm — 8 p.m.) aboard the Angel Island Ferry.

Day 2

Morning
After breakfast on the outdoor terrace at the Lodge at Tiburon, lace up your hiking shoes and head to Old St. Hilary’s, Tiburon's iconic hillside landmark that was originally a mission church named for St. Hilaire, Bishop of Poitiers. The surrounding 122-acre Open Space Preserve offers a rewarding trek with panoramic views of the Golden Gate, the Marin Headlands, and wildflower-filled meadows.

Midday
Time to shop! Downtown Tiburon is the perfect place to buy gifts for friends and update your closet at boutiques such as Main Street Mercantile, which brims with contemporary clothing and accessories that fit California’s effortlessly chic lifestyle. For a taste-of-Tiburon souvenir, drop by Local Spicery and choose from all-natural spices, herbs, and salts, milled in small batches.

Lunch
On Saturdays and  Sundays, The Caprice, just a 10-minute walk along the water, is a romantic and elegant spot, where refined seafood dishes are served alongside unbeatable views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. For something more casual, Sam's Anchor Café on Main Street, one of the Bay Area’s most iconic waterfront dining spots. Order the Dungeness crab sandwich and sip a cold drink on the deck.

Afterward, read and catch some rays by the Lodge’s pool, or indulge in a bit of self-care at the Tiburon Spa. You deserve it!

Evening
When in Tiburon, The Caviar Co. is a must, and especially if you happen to visit on National Caviar Day (July 19). Think luxe champagne and caviar experiences, tasting flights, and specialties such as caviar grilled cheese (yum). The shop is closed on Monday and Tuesday, but happy hour is Wednesday – Friday, from 4 – 7 p.m., and live music on Fridays is worth the wait.

Add a little oh-la-la to your midweek by booking a table at the Petite Left Bank, whose 3-course prix-fixe menu tempts with classic French dishes and desserts for just $39.95

Return to Tiburon for a well-deserved lunch. Casual Salt & Pepper offers a vast menu of sandwiches, pasta, salads, and soup to satisfy every taste and craving, along with indoor and outdoor seating right on Main Street.

Afternoon
Take a gander into Tiburon’s history at the petite Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum, located on Shoreline Park, with priceless views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.
