Bike the Island
Angel Island is perfect for the casual bike rider; the 6-mile Perimeter Trail is a paved route with spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay and everything surrounding the bay. Lots of scenery for not a lot of effort! Rent a bike from Demo Sports in Tiburon or BYO, the ferry accommodates bikes. Or, rent a bike on Angel Island from Angel Island Company.
Hike
Same goes for hiking: you can't beat the Perimeter Trail. Add on a hike to the 788 foot peak for the true summit experience.
Picnic
There is a grassy picnic area on the shores of the island as well as beaches which are protected from the afternoon breeze. You can also customize a picnic with items from Sam's Anchor Cafe, Nugget Markets, Woodlands Market, Rustic Bakery or Caffe Acri.
History
Angel Island has a rich history dating back 2000 years to Coast Miwoks, the original inhabitants of the island. Many historical buildings dot the island, awaiting your exploration.
Fishing
From a pier or the beach, drop your line in the water and see what the saltwater bay serves up.
Escape and Laze
Beaches, benches, a pier, secluded coves and dells...one of the best things about Angel Island is the feeling that you're away from it all. Find your spot and get in the zone.
